The Norway Trail Expedition gives you 8 days adventure in the heart of Lapland where you will experience the wild forest landscape on a snowmobile.

We pass through the forest landscape with all its different countryside characteristics from moors to thick snow-covered pine forests and frozen lakes. You will also have the opportunity for a walk on snowshoes/fishing program/ visit to a reindeer farm.

Chances to see moose, reindeer and other wildlife are normally good.

 „NORWAY TRAIL” EXPEDITION – 8-day snowmobile trip

 Itinerary:

Day 1

– Meeting with the participants in the Ivalo airport or hotel (If you want to arrive a few days before the expedition we recommend accommodation in Saariselka)

– Accommodation in holiday cabins, 2-4 people shared an apartment.

– Dinner (Usually available until 19.00)

-Sauna

Day 2

– Breakfast.

– Preparations, packing, safety brief, and driving lesson.

– Snowmobile safari.

–  Coffee break on the trail

– Accommodation in a wooden cottage.

– Dinner

Day 3 – 6

– Breakfast.

– Snowmobile safari: a full day driving across the Finish Lapland and Norwegian Finmark

– Coffee break on the trail

– Accommodation in a wooden cottage.

– Dinner.

Day 7

– Breakfast.

– Snowmobile safari

– Coffee break on the trail

– Transfer from Kakslauttanen to Saariselka

– Dinner

– Sauna

Day 8

– Breakfast.

– Bus transfer back to Ivalo

Route:

We set off from Kakslauttanen -250 km after the Arctic Circle from where we head north to Inari (the cultural center of the Sami nation in Finland)

From Inari we head north-west towards the Finnish-Norwegian border, which we will cross in the town of Karigasneri. After crossing the border, we drive on the ice-covered Karasjonka River.

After reaching the village of Karasjok, we will head southwest to reach the village of Kautokeino after about 100 km.

From Kautakeino we head south towards the border with Finland, which we will reach after about 50 km and after another 50 km we will reach Enontekio. The next point on our trail will be Pokka (in

Pokka in 1999 recorded the lowest temperature in the history of Finland -51.5 degrees C)

We head east from Pokka and then north in Vuotso to reach Kakslauttanen after about 100 km.

Minimum 2 persons traveling together.
